DeGooyer University
Finally a University that bears a worthy name.
DeGooyer University was founded in 1995 by Scott and Sundy DeGooyer in Grand Junction, Colorado. Since then we have opened campuses in Las Vegas, Nevada and now in Queen Creek, Arizona. Kiara is currently double majoring in violin and animal sciences. Katia is pursuing a degree in piano and physical education. Sundy will be working on her masters in theatre production. Scott has been busy working on his doctorate in computer communications with an emphasis on blogging. We are so proud to be alumni of the DeGooyer University. We would like to give an honorary degree in marketing to the Pugh family for developing the shirts.

Mesa Temple Lights 2008
This year we went to see the Mesa Temple lights with Papa and Mil (Sundy's parents). We had a great time seeing all the fun lights. It feels like they get more each year. We were able to walk around the grounds before it got dark and enjoy the story of Christ's birth without the crowd and then walked around later to enjoy the lights. Every year they have a whole room full of different nativities from all over the world. This is one of the highlights for Sundy since she collects nativities. We all enjoyed them and their uniqueness.

Kornelis (aka. Korny Kollins)
Sundy letting snakes in the house? I don't think so but it's true. She agreed as long as she got to name it. She named it Korny Kollins after the guy in "Hairspray," only his name is with C's of course. Scott agreed but then named him Kornelis after his great grandfather, which by the way was with a C too. We just like to use those K's. The snake is a Corn snake that we got for free from our friends here. Sundy even asks to hold him now. She sure has come a long way.
New York Jets
Beginnings
Scott grew up in the small town of Green River, Wyoming. Sundy Grew up in another small town in another state. NO one could imagine that the two of them would meet, fall in love, and marry. But they did. Sundy was attending BYU, majoring in music education, when the Holy Ghost prompted her to move back home with her parents. She did, believing that she would never find "Mr. Right" in Grand Junction, Colorado. In the mean time, Scott returned "home" from serving an honorable mission in Brazil to a new city where his parents had moved while he was serving the Lord. He joined the student ward and was assigned to be a home teacher to Sundy. A month after they began dating, Scott proposed, and less than 6 months later, they were sealed by Sundy's grandfather, in the Denver Temple, for time and all eternity in 1995.
Shortly after their marriage, Sundy graduated from Mesa State College with a BA in music education. Scott followed soon after with a BBA in buisness management. During Sundy's first year of teaching she gave birth to a beautiful little girl. They named her Kiara Lea DeGooyer. A year and a half later, they had their second daughter, Katia Rae DeGooyer. Soon after Katia was born they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2000.
Sundy decided to stay home and raise her children while Scott worked nights at Caesar's Palace and went to UNLV during the day for an MBA in marketing. Scott graduated with his MBA in 2002 and continued to work for Caesar's Palace as a manager for another 5 years. When Kiara and Katia started school, Sundy also went back to teaching elementary music. She loves teaching at the same school her daughters attend!
Scott loves creating and designing. He is very talented with creating power point presentations and also enjoys videography. He loves serving in whatever calling he holds in the church. And his favorite football team in the J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets!.
Sundy loves cross stitching, reading, scrapbooking, and playing the piano. She also enjoys sharing her talents with the church. She loves watching Heroes on T.V. every Monday night while she cross stitches or works on another project of some kind. She loves projects and organizing.
Kiara is learning to play the violin and loves to sing. She loves reading... and is really a good student. She also has a passion for animals. If it were up to her, we would live in a zoo. As it is now, she owns a leopard gecko, named KiaLina. Her smile is contageous and her love for others is sincere.
Katia is a fireball. She is always active and loves new physical challenges like climbing and swimming. She is learning to play the piano. She loves reading also, and especially loves reading her scriptures. She takes after her great grandma Hughes by bearing her testimony EVERY Sunday. She is extremely self motivated. And she loves helping.
