The 2008 DeGooyer Family Alphabet

A is for Activity Days
Kiara and Katia love to go to Activity Days every other Tuesday.
B is for Baptism
Katia was baptized this summer by her father in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was lucky enough to be baptized at the same time as her cousin, Chance.
C is for Cowgirls and Cowboys
Our Halloween tradition lives on! We all dressed as Cowgirls/boys this year!
D is for DeGooyer Day
We explored the Superstition Mountains and the legend of the Lost Dutchman! Arizona history really came alive for us!
E is for Elders Quorum Presidency
Scott was called as first counselor in the Elders Quorum Presidency. He loves to serve!
F is for Foreclosure
We got kicked out of our last rental, because the owners didn’t pay their bills.
G is for Grandma Mil and Sheila visits
Kiara got to spend two weeks with Grandma Mil this summer. She had so much fun riding horses, reading books and making scrapbooks. Sheila spent the same two weeks with us. She couldn’t believe how hot Arizona was. But she loved swimming every day!
H is for Honor Roles
Both Kiara and Katia were on the Principal’s Honor Role
I is for Indians (Hohokams)
In 4th grade, Kiara learned about the native American Indians that lived in Arizona. She and her dad made the coolest model of a Hohokam pit house, and the whole family explored the Hohokam’s Casa Grande Ruins.
J is for JETS still rock!
Need we say more?
K is for Kamelot
Kamelot is five this year. The girls are still loving their dog.
L is for Leaving Las Vegas
We have finally cut all ties with Las Vegas. Our house is sold. Our jobs are gone. And we are now officially living in Arizona.
M is for Musical - School House Rock Live Jr.
Our musical, School House Rock Live Jr., was AWESOME! Kiara and Katia stole the show when they sang “Interjections!” And now a whole new generation loves singing the songs “I’m Just a Bill” and “Unpack Your Adjectives!”
N is for New Critters
Believe it or not, we are now the proud of owners for two leopard geckos, KiaLina and Kleopatra, and one corn snake, Korny Kollins. Who would have thought Sundy would allow her family to have reptiles?! But she loves the critters as much as everyone else. (Yes, she even holds the snake!)
O is for Operation Lake Powell Reunion
The DeGooyer reunion at Lake Powell this summer was fabulous! Kevin and Kelly really organized a fun get together for the entire family! Kiara never got out of the water, and Katia thought she was 16 years old.
P is for Pinetop
Pinetop is one of our new, fun and favorite destinations. We hiked. We played games. We barbequed. We watched conference. We watched Star Wars. We can’t wait to go back!
Q is for Queen Creek
It’s where we live: 28273 N. Silver Lane
Queen Creek, AZ 85243
R is for Reunited
After a year of living apart, Scott finally joined us in Arizona for good! Everyone is overjoyed! Yeah!
S is for School (Anthem K8)
Sundy still teaches music at Anthem K8, and she also teaches drama. Kiara and Katia are also at Anthem K8. Kiara is in 4th grade and Katia is in 3rd grade.
T is for Thanksgiving with the Haskins
Can you say family? The Haskins are like family!
U is for the United States Capitol Building
Scott is becoming quite a pro at helping his daughters with big projects. This time, Katia had to make a model of the U.S. Capitol Building. She and Scott created a gorgeous replica of the American landmark out of cake!
V is for Violin and Piano Lessons
Kiara is playing the violin. Although she is in 4th grade, she is playing in the 5th and 6th grade orchestra. She’s really quite talented. Katia is loving playing the piano. She can play Silent Night by heart and loves to share her talents with anyone who will listen!
W is for our Copper Basin Ward
Our ward family is terrific! There are plenty of opportunities in our ward for service and work. Sundy is currently serving as the Primary pianist. And Scott loves working with the Elders.
X is for eXericise
We’re trying.
Y is for Young Scientists
Kiara and Katia were invited to be in the Science Club. They love learning and studying about science. Thanks to Papa McCallister.
Z is for Zion in AriZona
Since we moved here, the prophet was inspired to build three more temples! Could there be a correlation?
Come visit us in beautiful, warm Arizona.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
